When I was first elected to serve Marylanders in Congress, I was only one of two Democrats to flip a Congressional seat from Red to Blue. That election was fueled by voters determined to make sure their voices were heard.

Today mega-rich Republican donors from around the country are pouring money into races to try to defeat Democratic incumbents and raise the stakes in elections across the country. No one can take anything for granted.

Tomorrow is our last fundraising deadline before the July 19th primary, when Republicans will choose my opponent. We need to be ready for whoever emerges from that primary to be the Republican Senate candidate for Maryland — and the outside national Republican donors or Super-PACs that candidate may have.
