John,
On Friday, we witnessed a direct attack on our fundamental rights and bodily autonomy from the U.S. Supreme Court as they ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, voting to overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
We know that our work is strongest when we center on those most impacted, and now our most vulnerable communities will again face systemic discrimination. Last year, 72% of our state partners worked on reproductive rights legislation. Queer and trans people have abortions, and bodily autonomy is a human right.
With increased attention on the states, it’s time to redouble our efforts to build progressive, intersectional networks and infrastructure in the states and across the country. Donate now to support the capacity of state-based LGBTQ+ organizations across the country.
So far in 2022, we have fought over 300 anti-LGBTQ+ bills across the country. Many of these bills directly target the rights of trans people to bodily autonomy.
This year, we’re celebrating 25 years of supporting state-based advocacy to protect LGBTQ+ people across the country. Will you join our historical efforts and fund 25 more years of Equality Federation?
The work we do is possible because we have a strong network of state partners throughout the country with whom we have the privilege to work. After you donate to Equality Federation, please consider matching that gift with a donation to your closest participating state partner.
