OCEANSIDE, Calif. — On Tuesday, Oceanside City Councilman Christopher Rodriguez endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:

"Brian had a long and distinguished business career, and he was a good Mayor for San Juan Capistrano," said Rodriguez, “I have admired his strong record of support for our law enforcement community, taxpayers, and business owners. Brian will be an outstanding member of Congress and I know he will fight for a secure border, a vibrant economy, and our veterans and their families. I am proud to get behind Brian and help win this seat in November.”

Brian Maryott responded, "I’m honored to receive Chris’ endorsement. Councilman Rodriguez is above all a fighter who stands up for what he believes in. There was no bolder voice in North County when parents and business owners lost their liberties, and he carried that strong message on the campaign trail as well. I know he will continue to do a great job for Oceanside, and we are proud to have his endorsement today."
Chris Rodriguez served two combat tours in Iraq, including the invasion of Baghdad, attached to 1st Battalion 5th Marines and the Fight for Fallujah, Operation Vigilant Resolve, attached to 2nd Battalion 1st Marines, where Christopher suffered injuries in a firefight. After the Marine Corps, Christopher started a Mortgage & Real Estate company in 2007. Chris and his family have a farm in South Morro Hills which he manages with his wife Sarah and six children.

Chris Rodriguez was elected to the Oceanside City Council in 2018. He has been particularly active in the challenge of homelessness, and matters affecting small business owners. He currently represents District 2, which is most of the Northeast Section of Oceanside.
To date, Brian Maryott has received the endorsements of the San Diego Police Officers' Association, The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, California Republican Party, Orange County Republican Party, San Diego Republican Party, San Diego Lincoln Club, Congressman Darrell Issa, Betty Ward, Ward Connerly, The California Women's Leadership Association PAC, 13 Mayors, 6 City Council Members, 4 County Supervisors, 2 State Senators, and 3 Assemblymembers (including the Republican Leader in the Assembly).
