I'm writing this morning to ask for a contribution ahead of our official end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline coming up on Thursday at midnight. But before I do that, please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

When we close the books later this week, we're legally required to publicly report our fundraising numbers — how much money we've raised and how many donations we've received — whether they're good or bad.

Once we do that, you can be certain that our opponents (like the right-wing fossil fuel lobbyists and dark money super PACs) will be pouring through the receipts to see how we did.

We want to make sure they don't like what they see.

The truth is that this month has been slower for our digital fundraising than we planned, and we're really hoping we can count on your support today to put up as large a number as possible. What do you say?

You don't need me to tell you that we're facing many challenges and crises as a country right now. But the truth is that if we're going to confront those challenges head-on, our movement needs to stand united and be ready for the fights ahead.

I'm talking about big, bold policies like the Green New Deal and our fight for climate justice, abortion rights and reproductive freedom, voting rights and democracy reform — and yes, abolishing the filibuster and expanding the Supreme Court to get it all done.

We have a great deal of work ahead of us if we're going to create the kind of change we all understand our country needs. But as always, I'm confident in our movement's ability to get big things done — so long as we're in the fight together.

Corporate interests and beltway insiders are all hoping the momentum and enthusiasm behind our agenda will simply fade away. Thursday's deadline is our next chance to show them we're just getting started. So please:
