Jack, they did it.
After almost two months of anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court’s final decision on Roe, they did it.

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, making abortion illegal in over half the country. Even bleaker, Congress had almost TWO months since the opinion was leaked and nearly 50 YEARS to pass federal legislation codifying abortion after Roe was passed.
Despite the unwavering disappointment - we will push on. We protect our communities. We care for each other. And we continue to fight for those who need it most. And in this fight, one of the things we need most right now is safe-havens. States that can should codify abortion into law for in and out-of-state residents, shielding abortion care seekers coming from neighboring states from inhumane vigilante laws.
Since the draft Roe opinion was leaked last month, state legislatures in blue states have been in communication with each other, reproductive health care experts, and their constituencies about what it means to expand upon existing reproductive health care access in their state. But they need to hear from you too, Jack. They need to understand how immensely important their state-based health care decisions are to people all over the country. They need to understand that they have the power to save lives.
