We are stoked to announce that State Representative Samantha Fox will receive the Young Democrat Legislator of the Year award for our Granite Slate Awards coming up on Friday, December 13th. Sam is a badass mom to Leo, a small business owner, and was a first time candidate in 2018. When she started running she was staring down a primary, and if she made it through that, one of the most competitive general election races in the state. But she didn't flinch. She got to work knocking doors, raising money, and making connections across her district. And because of that she not only made it through the primary, she flipped a seat from Red to Blue! In her first term, she has become part of leadership for the Young Dem's Caucus and has become a fierce voice for young people across our state. This coming session, she's leading the way to turn the smoking room in the State House into a child care room. As a young mother, she knows just how hard it can be for young parents to serve. Doors will open at 5:00PM on the 13th to congratulate Sam on her incredible victories and continued advocacy. Because of all this and more, we're extremely proud of Sam and thrilled to be honoring her as our Young Elected Legislator of the Year!
