The Story
The minute you saw First Lady Melania Trump’s dazzling White House Christmas decorations, you knew what was going to happen, right? The Washington Post and other mainstream outlets would join in a chorus of jeers, mocking the First Lady’s taste in ornaments and trees. Only this year there was a twist: The Washington Post writer actually liked the First Lady's decorations–but quickly skipped over them to endlessly mock the First Lady's coat. The Twitterverse naturally responded to the ungracious Post piece.
In Short
We should be glad that the First Lady is a lady. She is able to rise above the unfair treatment she routinely receives. But it can't be fun. Oh well, at least the Washington Post's Robin Givhan, in a bow to innovative coverage, has broken the tradition of lambasting this year's White House decorations.

B: For-profit colleges have the worse debt-to-earnings ratios–that is, their students are more indebted in comparison to their future prospects after graduating–and generally compare unfavorably to traditional community college or four-year options.
C: Traditional universities may make enormous sums of money by granting degrees to students and still be considered nonprofit.

Maria Semykoz's admiration for the free market wasn’t entirely the product of reading and going to conferences. She acquired her ideals the hard way, by growing up in Ukraine, still a part of the old Soviet Union when she was born. Maria never experienced the prosperity of capitalism until she left Ukraine, first as a Fulbright Scholar studying political science at Miami University in Ohio, and then as a management consultant in Germany. She now lives in London and works as a data adviser for Gallup, the global analytics firm, and is also pursuing an entrepreneurial venture.

Thousands of people in Hong Kong held a rally to thank America for supporting the territory's massive democracy movement. Some came carrying American flags, while many held up signs printed with American flags and the words, "Thank You." They packed a huge plaza near the waterfront, spilled out onto the sidewalks and the ramps of a nearby parking garage. And they stood on tiptoe at the edge of the crowd to watch speakers and singers on an open-air stage celebrate their cause of freedom and democracy.

SNL’s Pete Davidson has joined Jerry Seinfeld in swearing off doing shows on college campuses. The reason? Students are so politically correct that they are easily offended. In other words, they've lost their senses of humor. Davidson revealed that he will stop campus gigs in an interview with Paper Magazine.

Increasingly, companies are offering workers paid leave and other benefits voluntarily. Policymakers should take care not to disrupt this positive trend, but should embrace reforms to make it easier for workers to prepare for absences from work.
