King County overpass damaged, Inslee issues emergency proclamation to assist recovery
Gov. Jay Inslee today issued Proclamation 22-03, declaring an emergency in King County following severe damage to the Lind Avenue overpass that resulted when a vehicle with an over-height load struck the overpass where it crosses Interstate 405 near milepost 2.3 in King County. The cost to repair the overpass is estimated at $2 million.
This emergency order directs that the plans and procedures in the Washington State Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan be implemented. In addition, state agencies and departments are directed to utilize state resources and to do everything reasonably possible to assist affected political subdivisions in an effort to respond to and recover from the incident.
