How do you know if your chosen candidate will do what he promises, once he is elected to office?

It’s simple. See if his words align with his actions. 

Back in May, I was one of the top 5 candidates for Michigan governor invited to the June 2nd Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Gubernatorial Debate, at the Mackinac Policy Conference.  

I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to debate the other candidates, until I realized that the conference had a vaccine passport/negative PCR test requirement. 

Therefore, I chose to boycott the debate. 

I didn’t expect all the candidates to stand with me, but I expected at least one or two candidates to do so. 

After all, at a previous debate, each of them promised to fight mask and vaccine mandates, if elected. 

To my surprise, no one stood with me.  

John Adams once said:

“Always stand on principle…. even if you stand alone.”

I stood alone because I could not stomach breaking my promise to fight these mask and vaccine mandates.

I will not betray my supporters and future constituents.

Many tried to convince me to attend.

Some told me that I could not afford to miss the MASSIVE exposure it would give me. It would be foolish for me to miss the chance to be in front of all those cameras.

Others said that vaccine passports or Covid-19 tests were not required for the outdoor event, so what was the big deal?

Although the requirement was waived for the outdoor debate, those who attended the conference absolutely had to show a vaccine passport or provide a negative PCR test.

I refused to support “vaccines for thee, but not for me.”

So, yes, I sacrificed the exposure to take a stand for the people of Michigan.

What a missed opportunity for the Republican party!

John, When you vote in the primary for the candidate you believe will stand strong – the candidate that is likely to be immune to corruption, remember Mackinac. 

When you choose the candidate that will act for the people, and not for his own self-interest, remember Mackinac.

If you desire someone who shuns elitism and special rules for the elites, remember Mackinac.

Thomas Jefferson said,

"If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done."

We do not have to keep electing candidates who say they will do one thing and do another, as soon as they’re in office. This is how we end up with RINOs.

Why not do something different so we can have a different result?

If you elect me for governor, rest assured, I will keep the promises I make to you.
