Friend,

The single worst piece of legislation I’ve seen since I’ve been in the Senate was Donald Trump’s tax bill that passed in 2017, and this latest news only confirms that. This month marks the two-year anniversary of that bill. The result, two years later? Corporate profits are at record highs, but despite Republican promises, it isn’t translating into increased investments in American workers.

And get this: The whole tax bill was cooked up in secret. Behind closed doors, special interests helped draft a bill that gave huge cuts to big businesses and the wealthiest Americans while many hardworking Virginians were left out in the cold.

Look, I spent a lot of time in the private sector. I believe in our free enterprise system, but the truth is our economy just isn't working for enough Americans. That's why I was so frustrated that my Republican colleagues completely blew their chance to reform our tax code to make it work better for American workers.

That’s one of the reasons it’s crucial that we win back the Senate. We need to create a tax code that works for ALL Americans — not just those that are already doing well. And I want to know what you think, too.

Will you take my Tax Fairness Survey now to let me know your thoughts on the Trump tax cuts and how we should reform the tax code in the future?

Thanks,
Mark Warner
