There’s less than 140 days until the midterm elections, team. That means the clock is ticking to support the servant leaders we know are ready to put their constituents first – not personal interests.
New Politics is dedicated to finding, uplifting and funding candidates across the nation who are ready to put their personal politics aside and begin working for all Americans. Each month, we’re diving deeper into the candidates you are helping get to office by introducing you to some of our servant leaders! Learn more about another strong servant leader running for Congress in California – Jay Chen.
"Throughout his life and career, Jay Chen has embodied the entrepreneurial spirit that defines so many first-generation Americans like him. He has served his country faithfully in uniform both at home and abroad, and he continues to empower his Southern California neighbors through his work as President of the Board of Trustees at Mt. San Antonio College. In Congress, Jay will bring his tireless work ethic and courageous servant leadership to Washington, put partisan politics aside, and do everything in his power to help California families thrive. "

🔵 About His District 🔵
CA’s 45th district has been deemed one of many ‘toss-up’ seats in the state, and a lot of eyes are on this race. Redistricting in California made this district one of the most racially-diverse and competitive races in the country.
🔵 Why He is Running 🔵
He’s running for Congress in California’s 45th Congressional district because Washington is broken. As our community struggles to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, too many career politicians are more interested in serving themselves and their partisan agenda rather than serving the people who elected them.
🔵 Personal Note from New Politics 🔵
“In Congress Jay will work to restore integrity and accountability in Washington DC. He will stand up to insurance and pharmaceutical companies to make health care more affordable. He will fight to increase the size and scope of small business loans so that our local economy can recover, and work across the aisle to invest in education and classroom funding so our schools can reopen safely. ”
We support outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
