The past 72 hours were filled with an array of emotions—emotions that stemmed from the reversal of our right to safe, legal abortions, but also the emotions toward the fight we know we have ahead of us, as we continue solidifying our freedoms to marry any person we want and to plan the future of our own families.

TFN is fiercely committed to our mission of building an informed and effective movement for equality and social justice. That’s why, I’m happy to share that the TFN team is expanding with the addition of our Just Texas Faith Organizer, Shan Schaffer.

Born and raised in Austin, Shan is dedicated to ensuring all Texans have access to the reproductive healthcare that they want and need. Shan has experience providing community outreach and support around reproductive justice and LGBTQIA+ issues throughout the state and in Chicago, Illinois. Shan loves calling Texas home and hopes to make the state more equitable and just for all of those who live here.

As we move forward, know that the organizing team is preparing for the considerable challenges that lie ahead, and now with our team complete, we’ll be able to work with you to tackle those challenges from all angles.
