• Roll Call and National Journal have named Tom the House Democrat facing the toughest path to reelection. This means that people will look at his fundraising numbers to see if his grassroots team has what it takes to win.


• Everyone has an interest in seeing Tom’s numbers: It’s a good story for the press, an opportunity for his right-wing opponents to get insight into his campaign, and a signal to outsiders and dark money groups that indicates the strength of his campaign.


• One of Tom’s potential MAGA Republican opponents is Ron Watkins, the man widely suspected of being QAnon, who was recently subpoenaed by the House January 6th committee for his role in right-wing conspiracies.
