From my family to yours, I wish you a happy Pride month! Pride is our opportunity to celebrate the joy that comes with being authentically you and the strength we can gather from our shared communities.

Yesterday, I joined the Pride festival in Takoma Park, as well as Annapolis’s Pride parade earlier this month, to celebrate the wonderful diversity that helps make our state great. These events are fantastic celebrations of love and welcoming for all. I’m grateful to the organizers for all their work in making them possible.

This pride month, I want to reaffirm that everyone deserves to be safe at work, school, and home and have the support they need to thrive.

At this moment, when there are heightened attacks on the LGBTQ+ community across the country, attacks on transgender healthcare, and an ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court, it is essential to recognize how much further we must go to reach LGBTQ+ equality.

I’m proud of my track record of fighting for LGBTQ+ rights throughout my career. I’ve championed the Equality Act, introduced legislation to guarantee equal pay regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, and have a “perfect score” from the Human Rights Campaign Congressional Scorecard. And I’ll bring that same passion and fight for equality to the office of the Attorney General.

I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Pride month and join me in continuing to stand alongside our LGBTQ+ friends and neighbors.
