Folks,

At the end of this week, we'll close the books on another quarter over here at Tester HQ. That means whatever we’ve raised this quarter — and whether or not we hit our fundraising goal — will all become public knowledge. Let me explain:

Every three months, candidates for federal office must report their fundraising details to the Federal Election Commission. It’s a way of ensuring transparency in our elections. Our FEC report will show the amount of money we’ve raised and the number of people who have chipped in to help.

It’s also a big test of this campaign’s strength. Right now, Democrats have a razor-thin majority in the Senate. If Republicans flip just one seat next year, Mitch McConnell will take back the gavel and return the Senate to a legislative graveyard. We can’t let that happen.

That’s why right-wing groups and shady special interests will be poring over our report to look for any sign of weakness. They’ll be looking to see just how strong our Democratic majority is.

So that’s why I have to ask: Can I count on you to add a donation of any amount before our upcoming end-of-quarter fundraising deadline? I’d be honored to include your contribution in the number we’ll send over to the FEC.
