Republicans could ban abortion nationwide, raise taxes on families, and reverse progress we’ve made.
John,
There’s a lot of polling that shows Democrats across the country set to lose in November. And with the Supreme Court’s decision taking away our right to an abortion, I know it’s easy to feel like engaging in politics is a worthless task. But we must stay engaged, even when it’s tough. Here’s why I’m fighting to win in 2022:
- If we lose the Democratic majority, Republicans could institute a nationwide ban on abortion, and we lose any chance of passing a bill to codify the right to an abortion.
- If we lose the Democratic majority, corporate PAC money makes a comeback. In 2018, many of the newly elected Democrats were some of the first to reject corporate PAC money. It was a pledge that really shook up Washington, but the number of members who don’t accept corporate PAC dollars is dwindling, and many of them, including Katie, are most at risk in 2022.
- If we lose the Democratic majority, it will be much harder to create a strong, stable, globally competitive economy—with a Republican majority we won’t be able to lower costs for working people and hold big corporations accountable.
This is my toughest race yet, and we have an important end of quarter deadline on June 30. If you can, consider donating $15 to help us win in November.

Katie
Katie is running for re-election in California’s 47th district, which includes Irvine and coastal Orange County. This purple district contains an equal number of Democrats and Republicans and is a must-win for Democrats. Consider pitching in today so we have the resources to keep Katie in Congress fighting for working people.
