After the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, protecting reproductive rights is on the ballot in November, and it's never been more urgent to retain our Democratic majority in Congress.

There's a lot going on in our campaign to keep the 49th blue, so I wanted to take a moment and give you the latest directly from HQ:

- This month, we advanced through the primary and learned our general election opponent will be Brian Maryott. Maryott is a MAGA self-funder who is willing to spend millions on misleading smears to take this seat.

- Just after the primary results were tallied, elections analysts at RealClearPolitics listed our race as a TOSS-UP. This is the second reputable publication that expects this race to be a total coin-flip.

- Last week, a Republican super PAC launched a $400,000 attack campaign against us. It’s still running on the airwaves in San Diego County, and its sole aim is to mislead voters about my record.

I won’t mince words, John. The outcome of my race could literally shift the balance of power in Congress. And with Kevin McCarthy going all in to defeat us, funding a winning effort is going to take more resources than usual.

So I have to ask:

Can we count on you for $3 before midnight to help us keep this seat and our Democratic Majority? We’re working toward a $65,000 online fundraising goal and we’re coming up a bit short.
