BREAKING: Tampa Free Press Endorses Kevin Hayslett for Congress in Florida’s 13th Congressional District
Hayslett is the only candidate in the race to receive an endorsement from a local news outlet
Clearwater, FL - This week, the Tampa Free Press Editorial Board announced their endorsement of Republican Kevin Hayslett for Congress in Florida’s 13th Congressional District. Leading up to their announcement, journalist for the Tampa Free Press Chris Ingram held public interviews with three of the four Republican candidates running for Congress in FL-13. By the time the interviews concluded, Ingram and the Editorial Board were ready to throw their support behind Hayslett.
“Chris Ingram and the Tampa Free Press absolutely endorse Kevin Hayslett for the 13th Congressional District right here in Pinellas County,” stated Ingram “We need somebody who is strong, who has vision, and who understands the district because he’s lived here his entire life. He’s a business owner and a former prosecutor and he can get the job done.” Ingram added, “This is the guy that is legit.”
In a crowded Republican field, Hayslett has positioned himself as the Law and Order candidate as he has received the endorsement of Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. Hayslett has also received the support of more Local Leaders than any other Republican in the field, including the endorsement of Florida Speaker of the House Chris Sprowls, who resides in Pinellas County. Hayslett is now the only candidate in the race for FL-13 to be endorsed by a local news outlet and Editorial Board.
“I’m honored to receive the support of Chris Ingram and the Tampa Free Press Editorial Board,” stated Hayslett. “Chris and the Editorial Board know what I know, and what every American knows, and that’s that Joe Biden and the Democrats have been a total failure. We’re seeing record high inflation, record high gas prices, crime increasing in every major city, and a southern border that is a mess. It’s time for a course correction, and as a member of Congress that’s exactly what I’ll bring to the people of Pinellas County.”
