John -

The world’s longest heated crude oil pipeline is one step closer to being
built – all because one of the most powerful U.S. insurance brokers,
Marsh, is backing it.

project

If built, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), would devastate
communities in Tanzania and Uganda. But if we can stop the project from
getting insured, we can stop it from being built.

We know that public pressure works. Last week, it was confirmed that Marsh
ended its relationship with another deadly fossil fuel project: the Adani
coal mine in Australia^1. It’s time for Marsh to drop EACOP too.

That’s where you come in,
John.

[ [link removed] ]Can you help us put the pressure on Marsh leadership to reject EACOP by
sending your own letter to these three executives? Every message will be
sent directly to their inboxes.

The good news is that Marsh staff are on our side. Over 100 signed a
letter to the company telling their bosses to drop EACOP.^2

Through inside knowledge, we know that Marsh has an internal leadership
event on sustainability this week where EACOP is sure to come up.

We’re aiming to send hundreds of letters directly to Marsh’s leaders to
support the staff who have come out against the project and make sure
their bosses know they’re not alone.

Marsh has made lots of commitments and talks a good game when it comes to
climate, but if they insure this project – all of their words are just
greenwashing.

The climate crisis is here and it’s simply immoral to be building more
pipelines – especially in one of the regions most impacted.

Communities across Africa are calling for this project to be canceled, and
the climate movement across the globe is standing in solidarity. So far,
over 16,000 people have signed our petition calling on Marsh to drop
EACOP.

Now let’s make sure they know we’ll keep up the pressure until they do the
right thing. [ [link removed] ]Please send a letter directly to these three executives
today. Your message will be delivered immediately.

Thank you for taking action. Together, I know we can win.
