John,
Here's what you need to know about the race for CA-45 -- one of the most consequential House races of 2022.
» In 2020, voters in the newly-drawn CA-45 rejected Donald Trump by a significant 6-point margin. This is a Democratic-leaning district.
» But that didn’t stop Michelle Steel from joining with extremists in the House in demanding that SCOTUS overturn Roe v. Wade. Steel is staunchly anti-choice, and refuses to say if she even supports exceptions for rape.
» With Democrat and Navy veteran Jay Chen in this race, CA-45 is now considered one of the Democrats' "top pickup opportunities" in the country.
CA-45 is a rare opportunity to both expand the Democrats’ House majority and defeat an anti-choice extremist. But next week marks a critical fundraising deadline, and Jay’s team needs an additional $37,583 to meet their mark.
We cannot risk falling short:
We have ground to make up, so we're humbly asking you to make your first contribution of $3, $10, or even $25 before this FEC deadline hits. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines with the stakes this high.
