Jack,
I’ll cut to the chase: Mississippians will suffer from overhauling Roe v. Wade . Electing committed, pro-choice leaders can’t wait.
Mississippi reproductive rights activists took legal action when our so-called leaders passed a law banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, targeting the only clinic in the state.
And now, as of last Friday, nearly all Mississippi abortions will be illegal within days.
If overturning Roe v. Wade was about children or mothers, Michael Guest, Michael Cassidy, and I would agree more often.
The Michaels would support the expansion of affordable, quality healthcare for all.
They would secure increased investments in public education.
Guest would’ve voted for legislation to get baby formula back on store shelves.
He wouldn’t have voted against keeping free school meal programs running through the summer for hungry kids. Like he did yesterday.
Both campaigns would address Mississippi's maternal mortality rate — the highest in the nation.
But they haven’t, don't, and won't represent these concerns. It’s all about power and control.
Every person has a sole right to their body. I believe that abortion decisions should be made between a woman and her doctor. And as your next Congressman, I will back up these beliefs in fighting for equitable economic policies, healthcare, and the civil rights we all deserve.
But I need your help. Guest and Cassidy are headed into a runoff tomorrow . We need to continue building up our campaign to stay competitive.
If you’re committed to ensure that the Deep South has pro-choice leadership on Capitol Hill, chip in what you can today. [[link removed]]
