John,
The hateful decision last week to overturn Roe and upend 50 years of precedent will have long-reaching, devastating consequences for the millions of Americans who seek abortion care every year. And, horrifically, it can also impact other standing rights including but not limited to contraception and gay marriage.
Abortion is one of the many rights they are working to take away. We’re fighting back. Join us.
In a concurring opinion to the decision, Clarence Thomas wrote: “…in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell.” [1]
This is laying the groundwork for an attack on access to contraceptives and the rights of LGBTQ+ couples.
These rights, the rights of a person to control their own body, are inextricable. We will rise to uplift, defend, and push for greater protections for all of them.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
Executive Director, Reproaction
