Dear Friend, My name is Claudine, and I’m a Light Mother from Burundi. In my role, I pass on vital skills and knowledge to other mothers in my community, so that they can feed their children and fight hunger. One of the mothers I support is Chantal (pictured above). Chantal and her husband Eliphaz live with their children in Mwaro Province, Burundi. When I recently met with her, she told me about the difficulties her families face: "With the climate crisis, we can’t harvest much and because of this, our children can’t get enough food to eat to be healthy.” I’ve supported Chantal by teaching her how to grow nutritious food on her plot of land, as well as ways to improve cleanliness in the home. I’m so happy to see the amazing difference the changes she has implemented have had on her children’s health already. |
