I first met Joy more than twenty years ago when she was working for the Cranston Herald. Since then, I have worked with Joy as we both served in state government, and I’ve seen firsthand her sense of connection to our communities. As a former Lieutenant Governor and State Senator here in Rhode Island, I know that connection is so important.
Joy understands the issues that are important to our state. She understands the challenges that our small businesses face because she is a small business owner herself. We need someone that understands us and our communities to represent us in Congress.
Joy also understands that this past week the Supreme Court, in its overturn of the long-standing Roe decision, set back the rights of women across our country. We need women like Joy representing us to help assure our country moves in the right direction in protecting all of our rights.
I trust Joy. I trust her judgment in making decisions for the Second District. Joy will be the same person we see here in our neighborhoods as she will be in Washington, D.C.
