Hi John — I know you’re getting a lot of emails asking you for money since Roe was overturned. And to be frank, I hate sending emails like this.
Here’s why we have to: Giant corporations and billionaire elites have a vice grip on our politics, and our only way to fight back is with a grassroots-fueled movement. But let’s be real.
We just saw the Supreme Court end constitutional protections for abortion access. Just minutes later, Missouri became the first state to completely outlaw abortion. And despite Democrats controlling the House, the Senate, and the White House, nothing has been done about it in Washington.
Just a handful of Democrats (Manchin and Sinema) refuse to end the Senate filibuster so we can protect abortion access nationwide. And instead of renewing public pressure on them to reconsider, DC politicians have instead told the rest of us to just go “vote” in November. More often than not, that request has been accompanied by yet another email asking for money.
John, I might remind you closer to Election Day, but I know you’re going to vote. So instead of just asking you to donate to another Democrat’s campaign, let me first make you a promise:
If you support my campaign, you’re not just supporting another Democrat in a competitive Senate race — you’re supporting someone who will absolutely fight like hell to end the filibuster so we can protect abortion access, secure voting rights, expand worker protections, and invest in rebuilding our country.
With only a few days till our final end-of-quarter deadline before the primary, GOP Super PACs have already launched waves of attack ads on TV. So, we’re setting our most ambitious grassroots fundraising goal yet to keep up: $900,000 raised by Thursday to flip this U.S. Senate seat.
We’re still far away from hitting that goal, and you’re running out of chances to make a difference in this race — so, I’ve got to ask: Will you add a donation of $10 or whatever you can to help us flip this seat, end the filibuster, and finally protect abortion access nationwide?
