Good Morning ,

Since our last update, YDG has seen a whirlwind of activity! Keep reading to get caught up. The November DNC Democratic Debate was in Atlanta and several Young Democrats attended.
2019 municipal elections have come to a close. Overall, we're very happy with the outcome. Young Democrat Austin Wagner won his election to Smyrna City Council last night. Democrat Van Johnson won mayor of Savannah, Bianca Motley-Broom won mayor of College Park, Vincent Cutts won mayor of Smithville, Travis Wimbush won mayor of Blakely, and Ryan Campbell nearly won mayor of Smyrna. These wins wouldn't have happened without help from Young Democrats across the state. If you know a Young Democrat who deserves a shoutout for a job well done this election cycle, let us know on social media!

The Democratic Party of Georgia has reestablished their AAPI caucus and the board consists of a former Young Democrat and two current Young Democrats! We're so proud of Jen D. Rafanan, Angela Jiang, and Elisha Kim for stepping up to reform this group. Like their page on Facebook at Democratic Party of Georgia - AAPI Caucus.
"On Saturday, October 19th, I got elected as the Vice Chair of the GA Dem's AAPI Caucus, alongside a Filipina-American Chair and a Korean-American Secretary. Our very existence is our ancestor's best and wildest dreams of what is possible here in America. I could not have done this without my village of friends, allies, and family."
Angela Jiang, DPG AAPI Vice Chair
Our YDG Executive Committee has selected UGA's YD chapter to host the 2020 YDG Convention next year! Executive Vice President Jaylan Scott and I are cochairs for this event so don't hesitate to reach out if you have feedback from last year's event or suggestions for the upcoming one.

If you'd like to stay up to date on everything YDG, join our slack workspace here. From there, you can join channels for different committees, interests, and more!

We have big dreams and we're making them come true. Please support Young Democrats by becoming a recurring donor today. This work can't happen without you.
