Christmas Carols

Enjoy some festive classics with the Heathfield School Choir at Basford Library, Tuesday 10 December, 10.30am - 11.30am. FREE, all welcome.

Christmas for Kids!

Christmas Totstimes! Join us for Christmas themed stories, songs and rhymes with a free gift for every child.

Santa will be visiting Aspley Library on Friday 13 December, 2pm - 5pm.  Every child gets a free present and refreshments will be available.  

Special Christmas themed craft activities every Saturday in December at Aspley Library from 9.30am -12pm.

Our opening hours will be slightly different in our libraries over Christmas and New Year so check ahead by clicking here.  

Don't forget you can use your Nottingham City Library Card in all our libraries and if you're reserving items you can choose to collect from a library that will be open.

You can still borrow eBooks, eAudio & eMagazines 24/7 plus, search for books, reserve, renew and check your library account via the online catalogue.

Treasures in the Attic… a Christmas Special

Join Brian Howes for a special version of Treasures in the Attic based on Brian’s monthly columns in Best of British and Collectors Gazette magazines. Brian selects an interesting assortment of local treasures from his fascinating collection, explaining their history before revealing their value, with some surprising results!  Objects range from things discovered on local demolition sites and at jumble sales to those unearthed from Victorian rubbish tips.

This talk is sure to make you want to take a look for hidden treasure in your attic! £2 a ticket, pay on the day.

Are you an EU National? Worried about Brexit? Need to apply for Settled Status? Migrant Help are offering free advice and support in making the application. Interpreters/translators are available. Dates for the Diary

Library Talk: Fascinating Felines.  Bob Massey will be talking about the unusual and fascinating story of the pet who shares our homes. Tuesday 14 January,  10.30am - 11.30am, Basford Library.

Library Talk: Are you Sitting Comfortably? Bob Massey will be exploring the beginnings of children's radio and TV.  Thursday 9 January, 10.30am - 12pm, Clifton Library and Thursday 16 January at Sherwood Library.  

Light Night Returns: Nottingham’s famous night of eclectic and electric light installations - is back and it's going to be bigger and better than ever before, with the events spanning the length of two days rather than one! Taking place on the 7 and 8 February, more detail in the next edition of library news.

Itching to get out of the house and do something a bit different? Have a look at some of our regular activities such as bookclubs, writing groups, games clubs, and  knit, stitch and crochet clubs. They are all free to join and welcome new members!
