Hi

It’s been another intense couple of months for the malaria campaign. The Global Fund replenishment brought fresh optimism – but The World Malaria Report shows we still need to pull together. We’re bringing you the lowdown.
* The world came together and pledged $14bn to the Global Fund towards the fight against malaria, AIDS and TB

* While we can defeat malaria, the World Malaria Report shows progress is still stalling in the hardest-hit countries. We need renewed determination

* The Malaria Must Die campaign wins big at creative awards across UK

** The world came together for the Global Fund!
------------------------------------------------------------
If you haven't already heard - we witnessed an historic moment back in October when we achieved a fully funded Global Fund! This show of commitment by countries and donors around the world will help us get back on track to end malaria within our generation. An amazing $14bn was pledged, which will help save 16 million lives and cut the mortality rate of malaria by half in the next 3 years.

Thank you for speaking up - this is what thousands of voices can do. We're one step closer to achieving the promise to halve malaria in the Commonwealth by 2023!

** The World Malaria Report 2019 is here
------------------------------------------------------------

The malaria fight is divided – the world’s most vulnerable countries are at increasing risk, while others are racing towards elimination. The WHO’s World Malaria Report is published every year, giving a comprehensive update on the status of the global malaria fight.

Today on December 4, the 2019 report shows that for the third year running, progress is still faltering. We need stronger political commitment and investment to ensure we remain on track to fulfil our promises. But it’s not all bad news – more countries than ever before are approaching elimination, including China, Malaysia and El Salvador.
