As gas prices skyrocket and the cost of living becomes unlivable, it seems everything we do to stem the tide has become increasingly pointless. It would be so easy to sink into listlessness...

So fuck it.

It’s Friday.

This week’s act of revolution: climb into bed and pull the covers over your head.

Staying home from work is the most efficient tool we have in the fight against capitalism. It’s free. It’s easy, if you can manage it. To do nothing, even for a short while, is an act of mutiny against the capitalist creation of value.

Nobody wants to be exploited anymore.

This is a new kind of resistance, more Gandhi than Guevara. No blades, no bullhorns, no threats. It’s more like a martial art: you absorb the violence of your aggressor without having to be violent yourself.

Consider the mighty, status-quo-toppling impact of this passive gesture if everybody did it. Why the fuck should you hand over the prime of your life? Reclaim your existence. Lie down.
