I saw a video on Twitter recently.

People in Texas protesting the overturning of Roe v. Wade were chanting: “Voting blue is not enough — Democrats, we call your bluff!” I couldn’t agree more.

It has been 50 years since the Roe v. Wade ruling that guaranteed a constitutional right to an abortion. It’s been 7 weeks since it was leaked that the Supreme Court was going to overturn it.

And in all that time, Democrats did not codify Roe v. Wade. The Women's Health Protection Act failed in the Senate in May.

The Democrats have the White House, Senate, and House. They could abolish the filibuster. They could expand the Supreme Court, which originally had only six justices but now has nine. They could then fill those seats with justices who aren’t far-right, theocratic ideologues. They could enact term limits for the federal judiciary.

Instead they’re sending fundraising texts and emails.

Voting blue is not enough. We need better Democrats, and better politicians.
