I gotta be honest about something, you guys.
Our very first FEC fundraising deadline is this week, and it’s pretty nerve wracking.
For one, this is the first opportunity that the media and political observers get to peek behind the curtain to see how strong this movement is — and, in that same vein, it’s when operatives on Trump’s team will know just how much of a threat we pose to their plans to rig the next election.
But it means something more to me on a personal level. It’s the first public record of who’s still with me. After giving it my all in two tough elections and falling short, it’s not always easy to get back up and jump back into the fray. I can’t tell you how much your support means to me.
Can I count on you, my friend, to chip in and be part of that official record of people who stepped forward to kickstart The American SOS Project?
In the weeks after we launched The American SOS Project, it’s become clear that the threat we saw — the very reason I was inspired to get off the sidelines and start this organization — is even worse than we could have imagined.
The attempted coup on January 6th ran deeper than we knew. Trump had allies in states across the country, people who wanted to ignore the will of the voters and hand Trump a victory he never earned. Now, some of those very people have a real shot to be in charge of counting the ballots in key battleground states. If they succeed, they won’t need a bloody insurrection next time around.
Last time around, it took dedicated public servants, people who put their country ahead of their party and got in their way. The next coup is coming together in slow motion all around us right now.
The only question is who are the people who will get in their way and stop them. I’m in — if you’re with me, please make a donation of any amount to show you’re part of this movement to stop Trump and save our democracy.
Thank you,
Amy
