The recent Supreme Court decision did not ban abortion it simply returned to the States the right to have their own abortion laws. But the ruling has led to much discussion about abortion.
Hopefully each State in America that will now debate what their abortion law will say will consider what Mother Teresa said about abortion which I have paraphrased in the following tweets. Mother Teresa said:
Abortion has portrayed the greatest of gifts -- a child -- as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience.
"It has accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters"
Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity.
"The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent"
"Abortion is a war against the child - a direct killing of the innocent child - murder by the mother herself”.
If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?
By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.
Abortion just leads to more abortion.
Any country (State) that accepts abortion is not teaching the people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.
Don’s view—-Hopefully as the States determine what is right or wrong about abortion and write their own laws, they will reflect on each of Mother Teresa’s thoughts.
Each of us should make sure that our Governors and Legislators know our personal view on abortion.
