This July was the hottest month on record. Extreme weather -- from hurricanes in
Florida to wildfires in California -- is threatening communities across the
country. And the Amazon rainforest is burning.
In short, we’re already seeing the impacts of climate change. It’s threatening
our environment, health, and safety. And scientists’ warnings are getting
increasingly dire: We have fewer than 11 years to prevent it from getting much
worse.
But instead of working to stop this destruction, Donald Trump is letting Big Oil
and Big Ag run our government. He’s trying to undo the Clean Water Rule. He’s
threatening the Grand Canyon, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante with
fossil fuel development. And he’s letting pesticide companies like
Bayer-Monsanto wipe out bees and butterflies. We can still stop these attacks on
our environment -- but we need your help.

With your help, we’re fighting Trump’s attacks on our environment at every turn.
We’re working to expose and defeat Trump’s nominees to key government positions
by shining a light on top administration officials’ conflicts of interest.
Thanks to Friends of the Earth members like you, we kicked Scott Pruitt out of
the EPA and Ryan Zinke out of the Department of the Interior. Now, we’re turning
up the heat on David Bernhardt --the former oil industry lobbyist who is now in
charge of our public lands.
We’re taking Trump to court to stop the Keystone XL pipeline. This disastrous
project threatens the endangered Whooping Crane -- a violation of the Endangered
Species Act. We won’t let Trump get away with ignoring the law.
And we’re working with progressive champions in Congress to set the stage for
strong climate action. Friends of the Earth members like you are pushing your
Representatives to stand up for a Green New Deal that phases out fossil fuels.
But the GOP is trying to stall our progress at every turn.
Meanwhile, we’re taking the fight outside Washington. While the Trump
Administration works to undermine and reverse our protections from toxic

Trump is trying to turn our country into the United States of Big Oil. He
advanced the Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines within days of taking
office. And he rolled back critical protections from the toxic pesticide
chlorpyrifos -- even though it’s linked to severe health risks for children.
At the same time, anti-environmental extremists in Congress are eager to gut our
environmental laws and fill our budget with giveaways to the fossil fuel
industry. They’ve tried to “terminate” the EPA, gut the Endangered Species Act,
and looked the other way at the rampant corruption in Trump’s Administration.
