Seeing these statistics and taking in the magnitude of the refugee crisis is difficult, but my team at the IRC, the people we serve and supporters like you offer so much hope.
I am proud that last year, with your support, my colleagues educated 1.6 million children, supported nearly 28,000 village savings and loan association members and were on the frontlines, day in and day out, providing emergency aid in some of the toughest places in the world. In Yemen alone, we reached nearly 800,000 people with lifesaving health care.
None of this would be possible without dedicated people like you.
Our work is about all of us — what we stand for, how we see our place in the world. It is a test of our character. When we stand up for the values of welcome and refuge, we don't just rescue people whose lives have been shattered by conflict and disaster, we rescue ourselves.
This Giving Tuesday, I hope you will show your support for refugees by making a gift to the IRC. If you give now, you can help us reach twice as many refugees caught in unimaginable crises around the world. |
