Dear John,
With the synergy of our legal, policy and research, and communications teams, the American Immigration Council addresses our immigration challenges in a distinctive way.

Here are just 7 examples of how effective the Council was in advancing fair immigration laws and policies in 2019. We:
1. Stopped the Attorney General from stripping certain detained asylum seekers of the right to bond hearings.
2. Halted a nationwide expansion of expedited deportations.
3. Filed a lawsuit seeking damages for five separated families.
4. Secured the first-ever certified class action using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to challenge immigration agency delays in providing people with their immigration files.
5. Shed light on the tragic family separation policy with government records we received through FOIA litigation.
6. Secured the release of infants in family detention by submitting a complaint with government watchdog agencies that received nationwide attention.
7. Issued more than a dozen publications to bring facts to the immigration debate
Your gift on Giving Tuesday allows the Council to do all of this and more. Please help us continue our advocacy for a fair and just immigration system.
