[[link removed]] John, the Supreme Court has officially handed down their unconstitutional, inhumane decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. I'm absolutely gutted, and I know you are, too. [[link removed]]
When you take away someone's ability to make their own decisions about their own bodies, health and life, they no longer have the full rights of every citizen to life and liberty. They no longer have basic freedom or bodily autonomy. They no longer have basic civil rights or civil liberties. That's the America that this decision just created.
But let me be clear: This fight is not over — it is far from over. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we need to let all of our outrage fuel us forward. So here's where we go from here:
We need to elect more progressive women to the halls of Congress in November — women who will never compromise when it comes to our reproductive freedom. Women who will vote to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law and reestablish nationwide access to full reproductive care.
But progressive women candidates across the country are going up against the far-right's anti-equality megadonors, so it's going to take all of us chipping in what we can to make sure they have the resources to fight back and win. That's why we set a rapid-response goal to raise $25,000 for Off the Sidelines before midnight tonight, and I'm counting on you to step up, John:
The stakes of this fight have never been higher, and the urgency has never been greater. But with all of us fighting together, I know we can win.
Thank you,
Kirsten
