Hey John,

After a truly grueling couple months, this weekend I’ve been doing some
reflecting.

I’m thinking about how our work holding to account those responsible for
the attack on democracy last year has made one thing incredibly clear: Our
system was strong enough to hold — but there is no guarantee it will hold
again, if we don’t stop the spread of the Big Lie that almost destroyed
it.

We can’t afford to let Trump’s cronies gain any more power. The danger
they have put our democracy in — not to mention what they are doing to
roll back voting rights, abortion access, LGBTQ+ rights — has proven that
they will do anything to control our country and tee up an illegitimate
Trump presidency should he run and lose in 2024.

I’ve also been thinking about the state of the midterm elections. The
reality is, historically, voter turnout is usually low during a midterm
year. In addition to that, the party in power typically loses seats —
seats we can’t afford to lose with a 4-seat House Majority and 50-50
Senate. And now, it’s clear we need to add at least two pro-choice
Democrats in the Senate to abolish the filibuster, and codify Roe into
law.

This is why I’m not taking anything for granted, and why it’s so important
that we band together before Thursday’s FEC deadline so that we can
protect our House Majority and expand our Democratic coalition.

So I’m humbly asking:
