Alabama
hits new record low unemployment rate

Gov. Kay Ivey announced this week that Alabama's preliminary
unemployment rate for May is 2.7%, a new record low for the state. Gov.
Ivey: "Yet again, we're breaking records that were set only a month
ago. We're nearly a full percentage point below the nation's
unemployment rate, we've been consistently ranked as having the lowest
unemployment rate in the southeast, and our wages are growing at a
remarkable pace."

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp praises work of state Crime Suppression Unit

Gov. Brian Kemp this week updated Georgians on the progress of the
Multi-Agency Crime Suppression Unit he created last year to address
violent crime in the state. In total, it has apprehended 526 wanted
persons, given 18,888 citations, and recovered 259 guns from the
streets.

DeSantis launches three-pronged plan to shield Florida from border
crisis

In response to President Biden's failure to address the ongoing
migrant crisis at the southern border, Gov. Ron DeSantis this week
announced a series of measures to protect Floridians. Gov. DeSantis:
"Illegal aliens are being smuggled across the border in record numbers,
which the reckless policies of the Biden administration facilitate.
Today, Florida has taken additional action to protect our state from the
effects of what is a full-fledged border crisis."

Massachusetts
tax relief: Gov. Charlie Baker renews his push as state's rainy day
fund soars

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is urging the state legislature to
quickly pass tax relief for Bay Staters as the commonwealth sits on a
massive surplus in tax revenue, amounting to a record $6.6 billion. Gov.
Baker: "With MA families facing high prices, it's time to give some
of the surplus back by passing our $700 million tax cut plan."
