As the advocacy agent of Jewish Federations across Canada, CIJA is dedicated to representing the broad range of views within Canada’s organized Jewish community.

We pride ourselves on having a wide bridge, a big tent, and a space for all Zionists. This includes of course queer and transgender Jewish Canadians and the many allies and friends we have in the LGBTQ2S+ community.

On June 17, CIJA proudly co-hosted simultaneous Pride Shabbat dinners in Edmonton, Hamilton, and Toronto. Hundreds of Jewish and non-Jewish LGBTQ2S+ community members and allies gathered to celebrate our Jewish values and rich tradition with immense Pride.

We are grateful to the many elected officials from all levels of government who joined us. We would also like to extend warm appreciation to the spiritual and congregational leadership for their leadership, guidance, and warm words of affirmation.

Thank you!

The Toronto Pride Parade starts today at 2 p.m. It's not too late to join the Toronto Jewish #LGBTQ2S+ community delegation and allies at the Pride Toronto Parade today!

"Democracies, including Canada and its allies, should use the leverage they have – diplomatic pressure, public statements, and, if necessary, withholding funds – to ensure that the UNHRC operates as it was intended: as a Council of the world’s human rights role models who act for the benefit of all populations."
