Hey John, we
hope you are doing ok in the wake of the SCOTUS decision that overturned
Roe v. Wade.

It can seem overwhelming to know what to do at the moment. That’s why we
have created a resource to show you one way we know we can fight back:
through our District Attorneys.

They have a HUGE part to play in this fight.

The reality is that this fight is going to move to the state and city
level — so DAs will be the first line of defense. That’s because they can
choose not to prosecute someone for having an abortion.

how our DAs are protecting reproductive rights.

Here at Real Justice we have been working hard to elect DAs who have
pledged to protect people seeking abortions.

The 24 DAs that we’ve helped elect are fearless leaders who are going to
be able to IMMEDIATELY get to work — especially since there are 13 states
with trigger laws going into effect right now or within the next month.

Here are some quotes on their commitment to this fight:

“…We know our community is safer when women and families can make personal
healthcare and reproductive decisions without interference from the state.
I promise to continue fighting for the rights of women and to use my
discretion to keep families safe.” - Jose Garza, District Attorney for
Travis County, TX

“I was devastated to see the Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe. If
issued, it will jeopardize women’s health and safety across America. I
promise my constituents that, no matter what happens, I will always fight
to protect the rights and health of women in our community.“ - Monique
Worrell, State Attorney for Orange County, FL

“Access to safe and legal abortion is a fundamental right. When you take
away or limit that right, you put people in danger and compromise their
health. I stand with Texans against this dangerous ban on reproductive
freedom.” - Kim Foxx, State’s Attorney for Cook County, IL
