The coverage has been positive: Guy Benson told me the events were really making waves in the places we’ve visited.
While the tour is popular with the press, it’s even more of a hit with regular folks.
Last week we visited Wilmington, North Carolina, and the line for gas was so long you could see it on Google maps!
We’ve talked to hundreds of drivers while at the pump, and their stories are heartbreaking. Many Americans are making tough choices over whether to pay for food, fuel, and childcare.
It didn’t have to be this way.
That’s why we’re touring the country this summer: To connect Americans to how the high prices they’re facing are the results of Washington’s failed policies — policies, fortunately, that we can fix.
To share those solutions, we’ve put together a new tour hub where you can learn more about the tour and get involved, too.
There are a lot of stories here illustrating how you can make a difference in the lives of others who are also being hurt by historic inflation.
I met Wanda in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her story isn’t uncommon.
Retired and living on a fixed income, Wanda showed up at 6 a.m. for our gas rollback event that started at 11:30 a.m.
She was willing to wait five hours for a price that wasn’t uncommon just a year-and-a-half ago.
Nick in Nebraska arrived at 5 a.m. for our 8 a.m. event. It cost him $130 to fill up his 28-gallon tank!
He said he’s struggling to make ends meet due to higher prices at the gas station and the grocery store.
We’re fighting to amplify voices like Wanda’s and Nick’s and the countless others who are fed up with Washington’s failed policies.

I need to wrap up — I'm off to the latest of a full slate of tour stops — but I’m glad I could connect with you briefly and share this exciting news about the True Cost of Washington Tour.
