This is a matter of life and death. The Supreme Court has obstructed the will of the people, and we must use every tool available to protect our reproductive rights and freedom.
This is a matter of life and death, for our LGBTQIA+ siblings, for the disabled, for low-income people, people of color, and for Black women and pregnant people in particular. Abortion is healthcare, and every person should have the freedom to make their own reproductive health decisions.
By wiping out the federal right to abortion, this extreme decision will put legal abortion care out of reach for many of our most vulnerable communities and exacerbate deep, persistent health disparities.
Let me be clear: by overturning Roe v. Wade, this Court is putting the health and wellbeing of millions of people at risk, and we must use every tool, at every level of government, to protect reproductive rights and save lives.
I do not have space for despair today. We will organize, take action, and come together in support of those who are in immediate need of care.
