Yesterday, the Supreme Court overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. This means that, for millions across the country, the freedom to choose that was promised to us almost 50 years ago is wiped away.
The decision to carry or end a pregnancy is deeply personal. It should never be forced upon someone by a group of politicians or unelected judges. Unfortunately, Republican-controlled states will seize this opportunity to restrict and outlaw abortion.
What these GOP states and many anti-choice folks fail to understand is: Abortion is health care.
Thankfully, there are still states out there that have promised to protect abortion rights, including California. We will continue to provide safe spaces for people to make personal health care decisions. No matter where you live or how much money you make, you deserve access to health care without interference.
As a candidate who has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood and Vice Chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I am committed to protecting the right to choose for every American. My 100% voting record in favor of reproductive rights won't stop here.
