With the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v Jackson , yesterday will be remembered as a dark day in our history. I stand firm in my commitment to fighting for the fundamental rights of all women to control personal decisions about their bodies, their healthcare, and their futures. That includes access to safe abortion care.
In Colorado, these rights are protected by state law under the Reproductive Health Equity Act (RHEA). I supported this bill the day it was introduced through the day it was signed into law. And I will continue to defend these rights and protect Colorado’s medical professionals who provide abortion services and reproductive care to all who seek it in our state. Above all, I will defend this important law if it is challenged in court and ensure that it is complied with.
In Colorado, we benefit from the leadership of several political action and advocacy organizations that continue to work hard and effectively to ensure equitable reproductive health care and abortion services.
