Africa & Europe
Pray for IJM Uganda casework teams. We have streamlined and developed a casework strategy to address domestic violence and sexual violence cases. Pray for great cohesion, wisdom and grace as we drive to implement it, and ultimately for a future in which every girl born in Uganda can live her life free from fear of violence.
Latin America
According to public government data, over 32,000 women and children reported experiencing violence so far this year in Guatemala. It is believed that for every reported case, there are at least four unreported cases. Many victims of violence are abused by the ones closest to them and remain silent due to fear, shame, lack of knowledge of their rights or lack of trust in the system that is set up to protect them. Pray for all the survivors of violence supported by IJM Guatemala and its implementing partners as they hope for justice in their cases.
South Asia
Please pray for relief from heat waves across South Asia. These extreme weather patterns can threaten local farms and businesses, leaving families at risk of extreme poverty and the lures of traffickers. Pray the upcoming rainy season would cool the land and sustain the crops. Pray that families could stay vigilant and not fall prey to those who would abuse and enslave them.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for recognition from the Government of Thailand for IJM’s work in combatting forced labor trafficking! Last week, the IJM team was recognized as an "Outstanding Agency in the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking." Please join us in celebrating this incredible milestone, and pray with us for our continued work in Thailand.
