Pastor Rhonda Thomas shared her story in LIVE FREE's "Hearing the Unheard" video series. It was the pain of losing loved ones to gun violence that compelled her to take action.

Pastor Rhonda currently serves as Faith in Florida’s Executive Director where last year she was able to help bring together about 800 faith leaders of all denominations around the state to support Amendment 4. The amendment restored voting rights to 1.4 million Floridians who had been disenfranchised due to a prior felony conviction.

This is the persuasion power that faith communities have to make change happen—power that goes back to the civil rights movement in the 1950s-1960s when a lot of social justice organizing was done through congregations. We want to rekindle that fire.
