Friend,

I write to you today as the Republican nominee for Senate, representing the good people of South Carolina.

To many, that may be a simple statement, but to me, that sentence represents years of work, unending support from my family and mentors, tons of prayer, and an American Dream come true.

I write to you as a man who has had the opportunity to do more in my life than I could have ever imagined would be possible.

I have had the opportunity to work for the benefit of my fellow man, which is the most incredible privilege a person can experience.

I have had the chance to stand up for what I believe in, which is the true test of a man’s convictions.

I have had the chance to work on legislation that means so much to me because it affects Americans who grew up just like me.

My mother worked long hours every day just to put food on the table. And although times were truly tough, my mom and my grandparents were convinced that education was the magic ticket to the American Dream.

Growing up, my dream was to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Football was my ticket out. But when I fell asleep behind the wheel of my mother’s AMC Gremlin, that dream was crushed just like the car.

But God had other plans, Friend. As I left football behind, I realized there was a better way. I became a Christian in college and dedicated my life to the service of others.

With the help of some gracious mentors, I discovered I had a knack for business and financial literacy. With those gifts, I could help people improve their lives with my work.

I realized I loved serving others and wanted to continue that service in meaningful ways. So I ran for political office, and soon after that, I became the first African-American elected to the U.S. Senate from a Southern state in modern history!

My mission in the Senate since Day 1 has been to show that every American can achieve their own American Dream when given an equal opportunity, and the government gets out of their way to let them do it.

Friend, in all of this, I remain grateful to the people who helped set me on the right path to success. In the Senate every day, I get to do what I love the most…serve the American people. I am so blessed to be living my mother's American dream.

Please stand with me today, and fight for the American Dream.

Friend, although $5 doesn’t sound like much, it goes further than you may think. Your gift would mean so much to me in our push to take back the Senate Majority.

I know we have been asking a lot lately, but

$5 would go a long way to make sure we keep our momentum heading into November.

CHIP IN $5

I understand the value of a dollar, that is why I am humbly asking for your support:
