** Keeping Schools Inclusive During the Holidays
------------------------------------------------------------
Many schools enjoy celebrating a non-religious “holiday season” but clearly favor Christmas in their traditions and decor. Moreover, important non-Christian holidays that don’t occur in December are often overlooked completely. These resources ([link removed]) can help your school community become more inclusive by reflecting on how and when holidays show up in your hallways, assemblies and classrooms.

** No Joking Matter: Words and Disability
------------------------------------------------------------
While we are increasingly aware of the need to address racist, sexist, homophobic, ageist and classist language, ableist language is too often disregarded. On this International Day of People with Disabilities, we hope you will consider how inclusive language can open a door ([link removed]) toward a more inclusive—and accessible—world.

“In fits and starts, the city is becoming a laboratory of experimentation, examining whether it’s possible to tackle the stratification that courses through urban districts.” — The Washington Post ([link removed])

“Sexual orientation is a highly individual and personal experience, and you alone have the right to define your sexual orientation in a way that makes the most sense for you.
