The Supreme Court reversed nearly 50 years of precedent and overturned Roe v. Wade.

I believe the government has no business getting between a woman and her doctor. The Court’s decision threatens every Arizonan's constitutional right to exercise control of their own body, and it cannot stand – we must codify Roe into law.

Arizona is one of 23 states that have an existing abortion ban on the books. And with the Supreme Court’s decision, abortion in Arizona could be restricted immediately.

We all know that this ban won’t stop abortion, it will only limit access to safe and legal abortion, particularly for our most vulnerable: Poor women, abused women, victims of rape or incest, and transgender folks. We cannot let this decision remain in place.

I was proud to vote for the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe into federal law. Unfortunately, the Senate has failed to do the same. We must urgently demand the Senate renew efforts to codify Roe.
