Hi Climate Friends ...
Here are a few actions and events for June:
Removal of the Snake River dams
-
It’s time for public comment. The big report is out showing a practical pathway to removal and the Murray/Inslee comment period is open now. See www.LSRDoptions.org for more info and STAY TUNED for a public comment toolkit coming very soon from partners with talking points that you can use to mobilize your base. I'll share it as soon as I get it.
-
“Rally for Salmon - June 25th” This a big flotilla event coming together on the water in Portland for June 25th to draw more attention to the story of this river and the bid to remove the dams. Tons of partners!
Let’s raise our voices collectively as 350 groups. It’s an important time to come together to stand behind and support intertribal leadership calling for the removal of the dams and restoration of the river. Thanks to some writing help from our friends at Save Our Wild Salmon I have a
350 SNAKE RIVER SIGN ON LETTER to share with you.
Friends of Sammamish Valley (FOSV) - King County Council
FoSV is supporting local farmers and rural lands by opposing a proposed compromise by KC Council to allow for the illegal operation of Wineries Breweries, and Distilleries (WBD), against the GMA and SEPA. Numerous organizations join FoSV in this fight including Futurewise and Sierra Club. A call or email is needed to your County Council member to oppose the compromise ordinance 2022-0147.

Our website highlights the who, what, and why it’s essential to invest in safe routes to transit with specific resources.
Renewal Food Bank in Bellevue Needs Donations
We have reached pretty critical levels with our non-perishable food items. We've been seeing high numbers again, unsurprisingly, and a drop-off in our normal donation streams.
We are mostly in need of the following items:
Tuna (and other canned meats), peanut butter, grains (oatmeal, cereal, pasta, etc.), canned soup and canned or dry fruit, ramen noodles, and instant meals.
We do have some spending capacity and have increased our purchasing but we're still just cruising through products.
Renewal is open (Monday 12-3, Tuesday 4-6:30, and Wednesday 10-1).
